French midfielder saw injury block Birmingham move
Peter Luccin, who is rebuilding his career in Switzerland with Lausanne, claims he came close to joining Birmingham in the summer of 2009.
The French midfielder says he had an agreement in place with the Blues, with Spanish club Real Zaragoza looking to move him out.
He was, however, to pick up a serious knee ligament injury during a loan spell with Racing Santander and the deal was shelved.
Luccin spent two years on the sidelines battling his way back from that injury, but says he is determined to get back to the top of the game.
Fit
"I had just found an agreement with an English club, Birmingham, when I suffered the injury," the 32-year-old told
L'Equipe.
"I was forced to go back to Zaragoza, but I never thought about quitting.
"Now I am perfectly fit and I am delighted to be in this position.
"I don't believe that this will be my last season as a footballer."
