Bellinghausen leaving to return to Fortuna Dusseldorf
Augsburg are reportedly in pole position to sign Brazil defender Bruno Gabriel Soares from Bundesliga 2 side MSV Duisburg.
The 23-year-old has refused to agree a new contract and could therefore move on a Bosman deal at the end of the current season.
Augsburg are said to be paying attention and the uncertainty over Soares' future has led to a war of words inside Duisburg.
Soares' agent, Hannes Bongartz, who is a former Duisburg manager, said in
Bild: "There are reasons why Bruno is to leave the club and they should keep in mind he was a Bosman signature three years ago.
"Looking down at the wage he is receiving at MSV Duisburg, every other club is laughing."
Decision
Bongartz added: "Bruno is considering his options. He has received enquiries from inside and outside Germany.
"We are looking into these bids and will then take a proper decision."
Meanwhile, Augsburg midfielder Axel Bellinghausen is to return to former club Fortuna Dusseldorf in the summer when his contract expires.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Bavarians in 2009 from Kaiserslautern, signed a three-year contract in Dusseldorf on Monday.
"We regret Axel's decision, but we must respect it," said Augsburg coach Jos Luhukay, whose side are level on points with third-bottom Hamburg in the Bundesliga.
"Anybody who knows Axel knows that he will give everything for Augsburg to help us avoid relegation."
