Celtic misfit offered route back to Mexico by Club America

Efrain Juarez has been offered a route out of Celtic and a return to his native Mexico by Club America, according to his agent. The versatile 24-year-old has struggled to make an impression at Parkhead since signing for Celtic in the summer of 2010. Neil Lennon parted with £2.5million in acquiring his services, but Juarez has made just 13 SPL starts. He was loaned out to Spanish side Real Zaragoza in July 2011, but returned to Scotland in January at the end of an unsuccessful spell.

It is expected that he will be offloaded by Lennon this summer, freeing up space in his squad and trimming the wage bill, and the Mexico international's representative claims his client could be heading home. "Efrain is interested in hearing what Club America have to say. They're talking," Jorge Berlanga said in the Daily Record. "But Efrain has a contract with Celtic and remains their property. "His preference is to stay in Europe but America is an interesting proposal."
