Midfielder keen to make an impact at the Liberty Stadium

Lee Lucas wants to play his part in the Swansea success story after signing a new contract with the club. The 20-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2015. A product of the Swans' youth system, Lucas made one senior appearance for the club at the end of the 2010/11 season before being loaned to Burton Albion. Lucas told the club's official website, "It's a great time to be part of Swansea City and I'm determined to work hard over the next three years to prove myself." A back injury restricted the Welsh Under 21 international to one game whilst with Burton, but he is confident that he can recover in time to make an early impression as the Swans look to their second season in the Premier League. "I had an injection in my back a fortnight ago and now I've just got to rest before pre-season starts. "I'm aiming to have a good pre-season and hopefully push myself in and around the first-team squad."
