Keeper impresses manager Freedman in friendly

Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman is weighing up a move for former West Ham goalkeeper Peter Kurucz after he impressed on trial. The Hungarian, who left the Hammers at the end of last season, saved a penalty in the Eagles' friendly against Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday night as the Championship side won 3-0. Freedman is considering adding a third shot-stopper alongside Lewis Price and Julian Speroni to bolster his options between the sticks. "We're having a little look at him," said the manager. "We feel in pre-season it's an ideal time. "He showed that he has good quality and saved that penalty. "We just need to assess whether we're going to take a third goalkeeper or not."
