Grant Adam has earned himself a two-year deal at St Mirren after impressing manager Danny Lennon while on trial.
The 21-year-old had been released by Rangers this summer after failing to break into the first team at Ibrox.
The goalkeeper failed to catch the eye of Ibrox boss Ally McCoist while on loan at Airdrie United last season, despite featuring in Billy Stark's Scotland U21 squad against Italy in April.
And now Adam, brother of Liverpool midfielder Charlie, will hope to get his career back on track with the Saints after the club agreed terms with the youngster.
"I've always said we won't go beyond our means," Lennon said. "We value Grant and he'd give us a good option but we are in a financially uncertain period."
