Midfielder becomes second player added to McCoist's squad

Dean Shiels has completed his move to Ibrox as Rangers boss Ally McCoist steps up his recruitment campaign. Sky Sports revealed earlier on Tuesday that Shiels was undergoing a medical and he has now signed a four-year deal at the club. He was available on a free transfer after the attacking midfielder failed to agree a new contract at Kilmarnock and he becomes only Rangers' second new signing since they went into financial meltdown. McCoist added former Hearts midfielder Ian Black to his squad at the weekend as well as re-signing Northern Ireland striker Andy Little. Black was a free agent after his deal at Tynecastle ran out while Little only had a one-year deal at Rangers and decided to re-sign this summer for two more with the option of a third. McCoist is hopeful he can also add Greek midfielder Pantelis Kafes as well as Craig Beattie in the next few days as he faces a race against time to get a big enough squad to compete before the 12-month transfer embargo comes into effect on 1st September.
