Midfielder set for second Schalke exit
Alexander Baumjohann is set to leave Schalke, after general manager Horst Heldt admitted the midfielder was not training with the squad.
The 25-year-old rejoined the club he signed for as a 13-year-old in January 2010 after spending time at Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach, but has failed to hold down a place in the team.
Reports suggest that Hamburg are favourites to land the former Germany youth international who has made fewer than 30 appearances for the club in his second spell at the Veltins Arena.
Time
And Heldt confirmed Baumjohann had been given time to sort out his future.
He told a German newspaper: "There are clubs after Alexander Baumjohann and as far as I am concerned he is to meet with two clubs in person.
"He is therefore not training with us actually."
