Midfielder's niggling foot injury returns

Dundee midfielder Kevin McBride is set to be out for a month after picking up a foot injury in last weekend's opening day draw at Kilmarnock. McBride was referred to a specialist this week after a long-running foot injury forced him off during the 0-0 draw. Manager Barry Smith told the Daily Record: "Kevin will be out for a few weeks so we'll just have to deal with his loss." Dundee are set to welcome St Mirren to Dens Park this weekend, which will be the first home game for the Dark Blues in the SPL since 2005. And Smith is expecting an exciting game in what will be a special occasion.

Attacking

"St Mirren play attacking football and they're good at it," he said. "That's also what we're about; although we need to make sure that defensively we keep things tight." Dundee are still waiting for international clearance for Italian defender Davide Grassi after he left Brussels. The former Aberdeen man has agreed a deal and will be hoping to make his debut should he receive clearance.
