Arsenal defender drops down to League Two for first-team football
Oxford United have bolstered their defensive options by signing Arsenal teenager Daniel Boateng on a six-month loan deal.
Boateng has yet to make a significant breakthrough at Arsenal, with his only first-team appearance coming as a substitute in last season's League Cup.
He subsequently took in a loan spell at Swindon Town in the second half of last term and made two appearances for Paolo Di Canio's side.
The 19-year-old has now accepted another spell in League Two after linking up with Oxford until the turn of the year.
Boateng made his debut for Chris Wilder's side as a late substitute in Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at Leeds United in the second round of the Capital One Cup.
