Brighton eye Turkish ace

Sky Sports understands that Brighton & Hove Albion have made an audacious attempt to land Turkish ace Tuncay Sanli. The 30-year-old forward is available on a free transfer after agreeing to terminate the remainder of his contract at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg last month. Now, Gus Poyet is hopeful of pulling off his biggest transfer coup to date by landing his signature. Besiktas are believed to be keen on taking him back to his homeland, but Sky Sports understands Tuncay is tempted by the chance to have another playing chapter in England. He spent successful spells with Middlesbrough and Stoke City before joining Wolfsburg for more than £5million in 2011 - but he failed to settle in Germany and retuned to the Premier League on-loan at Bolton last term. Now Poyet is hoping he can attract Tuncay to the AMEX Stadium and help galvanise their charge for the Premier League. Poyet has already lured the likes of Vicente, Bruno Saltor and Wayne Bridge to Brighton in the past 12 months.
