Brighton goalkeeper Casper Ankergren is convinced new boss Sami Hyypia can prove to be a big hit at the club.

Dane Ankergren, 34, signed a new one-year deal at the Amex Stadium on Monday and is thrilled to be working with Hyypia following the former Liverpool defender's appointment as Oscar Garcia's successor.

"I'm really pleased and very happy," Ankergren told the club's official website.

"I've always wanted to sign a new deal here. I've met the new manager and he is a guy who wants to play good, entertaining football, but he also wants us to work hard.

"That's always been what I've done throughout my career. It's really important that hard work always comes first and I'm sure the club has got the right man for the job.

"Personally the target is to do as well as possible and play in as many games as possible. From a team perspective we want to finish higher than last season."
