Sky Sports understands Peterborough have made a bid for highly-rated Gateshead star Marcus Maddison.
The former Newcastle youngster has been earning rave reviews for Gateshead after being released by the Magpies last year.
The skilful wide-man finished last season as second top goalscorer with 10 goals and his form was rewarded with two caps for England C.
The 20-year-old has picked up where he left off last season with three goals in three Conference Premier games, including two stunning goals against Torquay.
His form has attracted the interest of a host of Football League clubs, but Peterborough have firmed up their interest with a bid for his services.
