Nacional Madeira striker Mario Rondon is considering a January transfer and would welcome offers from England.

The Venezuela international boasts an impressive strike rate in Portuguese football and has spent the last three years with his current employers.

At the age of 28 he should be reaching his peak and acknowledges that the time has come for him to take on a new challenge.

He believes he is capable of competing at a Premier League level and would be available at a reasonable price despite having a little less than two years left to run on his contract.

Sunderland have been linked with an approach for the South American in the winter transfer window, while reports of interest from Spanish side Real Betis have also caught Rondon’s attention.

He told Vavel: “I could be set for a move to Spain or England in the January market.

“My idea was always to leave Portugal at some stage and test myself at a different level, and now is the right moment.

“It has always been my dream to play in one of these top leagues and I believe I will fulfil that objective.”
