Motherwell defender Craig Reid hopes the squad's hard work will pay off when they host Dundee in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

Well slipped to second bottom of the table when they lost 3-1 to Partick Thistle before the international break and are looking to stop a run of three consecutive home defeats.

And manager Stuart McCall cancelled their normal day off to ensure he could train with the players when he returned from Scotland duty on Wednesday morning.

Reid said: "We've been training hard. We've been in every day this week. Obviously the gaffer was away with Scotland and came back on Wednesday so we trained a little bit later that day to allow him to come back.

"We've been working on how we are going to play on Saturday and getting the fitness levels up.

"We need to stick together and show the quality we have and start climbing up the table."
