Oxford United defender David Hunt concedes it may be time to move on to reach the milestone of 400 appearances and continue his career.
Hunt, who was a central midfielder in League One until Steve Evans converted him to a right-back at Crawley, has been involved in four promotion-winning sides and is keen to experience promotion again.
However, he has conceded that in order to add to his 397 appearances he may have to look elsewhere for first team football.
The 32-year-old has lost his place in the starting XI to Bolton loanee Joe Riley under Michael Appleton, and Hunt has revealed the club will let him move on if it suits all parties.
"It's obviously frustrating not playing, but the gaffer’s brought Joe in from Bolton and these things happen in football," Hunt told Sky Sports.
"I have been working hard in training and feel I’m in the best shape I’ve been in for years.
"Of course I’d love to be involved in getting my fifth promotion with Oxford but if I have to move on to get games, then so be it.
"Football is a short career and you want to be playing as often as you can.
"The club understands that and have said that if something comes up, they would let me go out, so we’ll just have to see what happens.
"As things stand, I’ll keep working as hard as I can and if called on will do the very best I can, as I have always done."
