Mathieu Bodmer has signed a two-year contract extension with Nice, committing himself to the club until 2017.
The 31-year-old, who can operate in defence or midfield, joined Nice from Paris St Germain last summer on a two-year deal.
His experience has proved invaluable within a generally young Nice squad, prompting the club to offer the former Lille and Lyon man fresh terms.
"We have a common goal," Bodmer said on the club's website. "This allows me to take part in an interesting project where I can flourish within a group that is certainly young but which has many qualities.
"My goal is to keep competing over the next two and a half seasons and to take the maximum from it."
