Werder Bremen general manager Thomas Eichin has ruled out selling his club's top goalscorer Franco Di Santo, saying the player is happy where he is.

Di Santo has netted six goals so far this season, attracting plenty of interest from other clubs.

Rather than thinking of a sale, though, Bremen would rather extend the Argentina international's contract, which is currently due to expire in 2016.

"He identifies himself with Werder, is playing really well and he can get even better," Eichin told the Weserkurier newspaper.

"We're thinking about extending his contract. He's still got plenty of goals to score for us."

The 25-year-old should continue scoring goals beyond the winter break too with Eichin adding that a sale "in our current situation is absolutely ruled out."
