Sky Bet Championship: Fulham hope Scott Parker faces Sheffield Wednesday

Fulham are hopeful skipper Scott Parker will be fit to face Sheffield Wednesday next weekend.

The former England midfielder was absent from the side which won at Leeds on Saturday after pulling out through illness.

Boss Kit Symons instead handed the captain's armband to former Leeds striker Ross McCormack, who enjoyed a winning return to Elland Road thanks to Hugo Rodallega's goal.

"Scott Parker was a big miss," said Symons. "He's been excellent for us, as a player and as a captain, but Ross, when I asked him if he wanted the job he jumped at it and I thought he did very well for us.

"I'm delighted for him going back and finishing on the winning side. It was a good day for him and a good day for Fulham."
