Wolves have cancelled the contract of long-serving defender Kevin Foley by mutual consent to allow him to join Danish side FC Copenhagen.

Foley had been at Molineux since 2007 but his deal was due to expire at the end of the season and he had spent two loan spells with Blackpool this season.

The 30-year-old was part of the Wolves squad that earned promotion to the Premier League in the 2008-9 season and leaves after making more than 200 appearances in all competitions.

"We thank Kevin for his excellent service to Wolves over many years," Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett told the club's official website.

"On behalf of everyone at Wolves I would like to wish him all the very best in his future career."

Foley links up with former Wolves boss Stale Solbakken in Denmark.
