St Mirren striker Yoann Arquin has successfully overturned the red card which cut short his debut for the club.

The 26-year-old lasted just 37 minutes of the 2-1 win at his former club Ross County last Saturday as he was sent off after catching Staggies defender Lewis Toshney with a late tackle.

But Saints have confirmed their appeal against referee Brian Colvin's decision was successful, with the red card downgraded to a yellow by the Scottish Football Association's judicial panel, and Arquin is now free to face Dundee on Saturday.

A club statement released on Thursday afternoon said: "Following this morning's appeal it has been confirmed that Yoann Arquin's red card has been reduced to a yellow card.

"Arquin faced a suspension after being red carded in last Saturday's Premiership match against Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium, but today's appeal decision means he is now available for selection for Saturday's Premiership match against Paul Hartley's Dundee side at St Mirren Park."

Arquin also played the full 90 minutes in St Mirren’s 1-1 home draw with Dundee United on Wednesday.
