Rotherham forward Danny Ward stepped up his recovery from a foot injury by playing in the reserves on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old has been out of action since he suffered a bruised foot when accidentally kicking himself in training earlier this month and has missed the Millers' last four games.

But after a return to training late last week, Ward made his playing comeback by featuring for the reserves against Mansfield, scoring in a 2-1 defeat.

Ward was finding form following his January move to the Millers from Huddersfield prior to his injury as he scored two goals in two games.

He is expected to be involved in Good Friday's Sky Bet Championship trip to Birmingham.
