Craig Bryson could be available for Derby's opening Sky Bet Championship fixture against Bolton on Saturday.

A tight hamstring forced the midfielder to miss the pre-season friendly games against Villarreal and Burton.

The Scotland international is expected to resume training this week and his progress will be monitored ahead of the big kick-off at the Macron Stadium.

"Craig is not far off," said Rams head coach Paul Clement.

"He will be back in training at the start of this week and we will see how he responds.

"We have got every hope he will be available for the first game.

"He will be building things up in training this week, hopefully. He is a really fit guy. These few days off will do him no harm."
