Hartlepool have completed the signing of defender Andrew Boyce from Scunthorpe.

The central defender joins Ronnie Moore's men on an initial one-month loan deal and he bolsters the club's defensive options, after Harry Worley picked up an ankle injury.

After completing the signing, Moore told the club website: "He's big, strong and he has a lot of league games under his belt.

"We're just a little bit short in that area at the moment, Harry is going to be about a fortnight so I'm pleased Mark Robins and Scunthorpe have allowed Andrew to come here."

Boyce has struggled for appearances at Glanford Park this season, despite playing 40 times in 2014/15. Six of those came whilst on loan at Grimsby, breaking into the Iron's starting eleven with a goal on his second appearance for the club, at Oldham.

He went on to play 34 times in total for Mark Robins' men in 2014/15 as they avoided relegation from Sky Bet League 1, including a goalkeeping cameo against Bristol City as both of the Iron's stoppers picked up injuries.
