Bolton have launched an internal investigation after allegations were made about manager Neil Lennon's private life in the Sunday Mirror.
Sky Bet Championship club Bolton - without a win since September - confirmed on Sunday evening that they are looking into the reports.
"In response to an article published in the Sunday Mirror on Sunday 20 December, Bolton Wanderers can confirm that the club are currently conducting an internal investigation regarding the matter concerned," a said statement on the club's website, www.bwfc.co.uk.
"The club will be making no further comment at this moment in time."
Lennon took over at Bolton in October 2014 and led the club to safety in his first season in charge but they now sit bottom of the table having won just one of their 22 matches this campaign amid off-field financial problems.
