Swansea striker Oliver McBurnie has had his loan spell at Newport County cut short by his parent club.

The teenager made an instant impact at Newport when he scored a hat-trick in the League Two victory over Luton at Rodney Parade.

McBurnie, who also played in the 4-3 defeat to Notts County and the 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon, was due to return to the Liberty Stadium on January 2.
