Monday Night Football wins RTS award

Sky Sports Monday Night Football has won best Sports Programme at the Royal Television Society (RTS) Programme Awards.

As well as featuring some of the best matches in Premier League, MNF features cutting edge analysis from regular pundit Jamie Carragher and a stellar group of live guests that have included Frank Lampard, Brendan Rodgers and Ronald Koeman.

MNF also broke new ground with its innovative analysis of the 1966 World Cup Final in January with Carragher and presenter Ed Chamberlin proving once and for all that England's third goal DID cross the line.

"It's a great victory and huge achievement," said Sky Sports Head of Football, Gary Hughes.

"Ed, Jamie and Gary get a lot of recognition because they're brilliant on air, but MNF is a great team effort, involving people in technology, creative and all the production staff. If it wasn't for them MNF wouldn't be the programme that it is. This award is for everyone associated with MNF."
