Athletic Bilbao secured fifth place on the final day of the season in La Liga as they saw off nine-man Sevilla 3-1 on Saturday.

Bilbao jumped above Celta Vigo, who were beaten 2-0 at Atletico Madrid, to secure a place in the group stage of the Europa League next season.

Aritz Aduriz struck twice in the first half before Sevilla - who made a host of changes ahead of their Europa League final clash with Liverpool on Wednesday - saw Coke dismissed.

Juan Munoz pulled one back in the 55th minute for the away side, but Thimothee Kolodziejczak was then red carded just three minutes later.

Raul Garcia sealed the three points for Bilbao in the 71st minute, before the home side lost a man themselves as Mikel Rico was sent off in the closing stages.
