Everton striker Romelu Lukaku failed to score or assist in his 11th successive league game during the Toffees' 1-0 win over Stoke. In contrast, Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard's goalscoring form continued, bagging his sixth goal in eight Premier League appearances during the Blues' 3-0 against Burnley.

Both Manchester clubs made it three league wins out of three, which has only ever happened once before in league history, during the 2011/12 season.
