Kidderminster chairman Colin Gordon has praised supporters of Blackpool who are planning to donate cash to the Conference North club.

The gesture from the Blackpool Supporters Trust has come ahead of the FA Cup tie between the teams at Bloomfield Road on Sunday.

Under the rules of the competition gate receipts are split between clubs and the Harriers could make around £25,000 from the tie, according to Gordon.

But the windfall is under threat as many Blackpool fans have been boycotting home games this season in protest at the way the League Two club is being run by the Oyston family.

However, Gordon is delighted by the initiative from opposing supporters, as the money is vital for his club.

"It's a really nice touch from the Blackpool fans. Obviously the gate receipts from an FA Cup tie are very important to a club such as ourselves, so this proposal is very much appreciated," Gordon told Sky Sports News HQ.

"I think what they are proposing to do through their trust to our independent supporters trust is to make a donation of perhaps our share of the ticket, which would be around £6.

"So it's a fantastic gesture from football fans to a football club appreciating that we don't all benefit from the money at the top of the game.

"Getting through to the first round proper is like winning the cup for us. So you are hoping for that either winnable tie or that big tie against great traditional league opposition, which Blackpool are, not so long ago they were in the Premier League, so an away tie at Blackpool would have set us up for the season and so it's a huge loss.

"But the gesture from the Blackpool supporters has been absolutely phenomenal."
