Football is slowing waking up to the importance of sleep....
Not only to promote recovery, but also to aid injury prevention and peak performance.
Elite sports sleep coach, Nick Littlehales, has written a book on sleep and recently visited Bournemouth captain Simon Francis to share his ideas.
Nick's work has taken him all over Europe, working with Manchester United as far back as the late 1990s, and he recently assisted Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Demands on a footballer's time and schedule are on the increase, with players often struggling to achieve maximum rest ahead of matches.
A number of elite sportsmen and sportswomen are already investing in a range of products to help them rest, including earphones that feed lights to the brain and an artificial cold side of the pillow.
