Stoke City's former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri has provided the lowdown on his all-time favourite #One2Eleven.

The Swiss international came through the ranks at FC Basel before sealing a dream move to German giants Bayern Munich in 2012.

A brief six-month spell at Inter Milan followed in January 2015 and that summer Potters boss Mark Hughes swooped with a £12million bid which secured a switch to the Britannia.

Shaqiri may still only be 25 but has already rubbed shoulders with some of the world's finest stars in his career to date.

Here he explains who makes the grade in what is an attacking 4-3-3 formation...

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer

He is the best keeper at this moment in the world. He is a very confident guy. He is not a guy who speaks a lot like Oliver Khan or someone like that. In training it is difficult to score against him because he is very big and he anticipates very well and he is also very good on the line.

Right-back: Philipp Lahm

He is an unbelievable player. He took only one yellow card and never a red card so he is a very fair-play player and a very, very strong player so I will take him.

Left-back: David Alaba

We had a very good time together at Bayern Munich. He is fast, strong, has a good left foot. For me he played very well as a left-back. He can also play in midfield and when he goes to the international team he plays a different position. It is not always simple because Austria is not Bayern Munich but I think left-back is better for him.

Centre-back: Jerome Boateng

Jerome is a very good player. He is very strong, a very good personality and this is important for a defender. He is very aggressive and can win every challenge against the best players in the world.

Centre-back: Dante

Dante is a very funny guy. He has a very good left foot and we also had very good times in Bayern Munich. At training he was very funny and laughing a lot. The relationship with each other among the players was very good and that is why we won every title.

Midfield: Toni Kroos

A quiet guy but an amazing player on the ball and an amazing passer - nothing special but very intelligent. But now he is much better at Real Madrid. Now he has got more experience and he is one of the best midfielders in the world.

Midfield: Xabi Alonso

I played for a short time with him but he is a very good guy, a very good player and a very intelligent player. His long passes are really amazing. You can stay as a winger on the outside and the balls come perfectly to you. It was very nice to see also in training every day he did this.

Midfield: Mateo Kovacic

I played with him at Inter Milan shortly. He has a very good drive in front of the defence to keep the ball to drive sometimes in the middle and to play between the lines. It is difficult to play at Real Madrid because they are an amazing team. They have big challengers with Kroos and Luka Modric so it is difficult sometimes to play there.

Left winger: Franck Ribery

On the left I will take Franck Ribery. We had a very good time [at Munich] and it was amazing to watch him every day in training, also to train against him and with him. He has the drive one-against-one to do everything he can. He can make a difference in the team and he showed this at Bayern Munich a lot. For me he is one of the best wingers in the world.

Right winger: Arjen Robben

Robben, with his left foot, is a very special player. He always goes inside and it is always the same but the opposing team can't stop him.

Striker: Robert Lewandowski

He is a killer in front - he knows when he gets a chance he will score. That is important for a team also because it is not always staying in front to wait on the balls, it is about running around for your chances for your goals. He does this every game. He is everywhere on the pitch and that is why he is successful.
