Wilfried Zaha has hit back at Brede Hangeland after his former Crystal Palace team-mate selected him in a 'Lazy XI'.

Hangeland named his team for Norwegian podcast Heia Fotball and Zaha was in the side along with a host of Premier League stars the former defender has played with.

Speaking about Zaha, Hangeland said: "Some Mondays, he'd come over to me and say: 'I'm starting my programme now!'

"He'd do five push-ups, sigh, then leave. He would have been incredible if he was serious."

But Zaha, who has been playing for Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, has accused the former central defender of making controversial statements in order to remain in the spotlight.

The Crystal Palace winger wrote on Twitter: "I don't appreciate old team mates telling lies just to stay relevant! It's sad.
