Sheffield Wednesday winger Modou Sougou has joined Portuguese side Moreirense on loan until the end of the season.

The Senegalese international winger arrived in Moreira de Conegos on Monday to finalise the details of a loan move to the 14th-placed Primeira Liga side.

Sougou joined the Owls in August 2015, signing a two-year deal at Hillsborough.

But he has struggled to establish himself at the Championship club. He scored on his debut for the club but has suffered with form and fitness since.

His last appearance for Sheffield Wednesday came in the EFL Cup in August in their 2-1 defeat by Cambridge United .

Sougou has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Wednesday, scoring two goals.
