Bradley Lowery led out Sunderland with hero Jermain Defoe ahead of their match at Everton

Brave Bradley Lowery was reunited with Jermain Defoe as he led Sunderland out for their clash with Everton on Saturday.

The five-year-old Sunderland supporter, who has terminal cancer, was carried out by Defoe before Sunderland's match at Everton - which the Toffees won 2-0.

Bradley has won the hearts of football fans all around the world while he continues his fight against neuroblastoma.

The little hero has rubbed shoulders with Premier League players over the past couple of months, while he received tens-of-thousands of Christmas cards from well-wishers back in December.

It was also announced on Friday that Bradley was going to be a mascot for England's World Cup Qualifier against Lithuania at Wembley on March 26.

But first it was time for Bradley to take centre stage at Everton, donning a Sunderland strip with 'Thank You Everton' on the back.

The thanks was in reference to the club's terrific gesture last year, where they pledged £200,000 towards an appeal to pay for ground-breaking treatment in the US.
