The FA are seeking observations from both Chelsea and Crystal Palace after flares were released in the away end at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The incidents are due to be covered in the referee's report but the FA have already requested the views of both clubs.

Four loud bangs were heard coming from the area known as 'the Shed End', which houses away fans, with smoke bombs and at least one flare visible on Saturday.

Two people were arrested in the visiting section of the ground for allegedly setting off the first pyrotechnic, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

A third was arrested for allegedly assaulting a steward who was attempting to deal with the incident.

Two further arrests were made for possession of class A drugs.

Further individuals were barred from entry to the ground for possession of pyrotechnics.
