Bruma scored a stunning volley as Portugal were beaten by Spain

Bruma scored a front-runner for goal of the European U21 Championship as Portugal were beaten by Spain on Tuesday.

With Portugal trailing 2-0 in the 77th minute, Bruma reduced the deficit in superb style as he volleyed in from around 25 yards after a cross was cleared out to him.

The goal gave Portugal a lifeline as they looked to qualify from Group B, but Inaki Williams grabbed a late third for Spain to secure a 3-1 victory.

The result means Spain are into the semi-finals as group winners due to their superior head-to-head record against Portugal, who can still qualify as the best second-placed team.

Portugal's final group game is on Friday against Macedonia, who were beaten 5-0 by Spain in their opener. Spain face Serbia in their last group game.
