Carlos Puyol put in a "horrendous" tackle on Phil Neville during Spain's 4-1 victory over England in the Star Sixes tournament on Thursday night.
The former Barcelona and Spain captain announced himself after just a few minutes on the first night of action at the O2 Arena in London.
And speaking to Sky Sports after the full-time whistle, the former Manchester United and Everton player made his feelings known about the challenge.
"It is the worst tackle that I have ever seen on a football field! I hope Uefa, Fifa and The FA are going to have a look at this!!" said Neville, jokingly.
"And the thing that upset me more than anything is that the referee said that he had got the ball!!
"Honestly, it was a horrendous tackle. That was only two or three minutes into the game, so was a bit of an eye opener."
