Liverpool won the first match of the new Women's Super League season with victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby thanks to second-half goals from Natasha Harding and Niamh Charles.

Harding opened the scoring after 70 minutes following a goalmouth scramble when the home side failed to deal with a free-kick on the left from Alex Greenwood.

And the visitors made certain of all three points in stoppage time.
