French side keen on Gers striker

Ligue 1 outfit Sochaux have reiterated their desire to sign Rangers frontman Kris Boyd. The 26-year-old striker, who recently became the highest scorer in SPL history, is set to be out of contract in the summer. That has fuelled speculation that he could be on his way out of Ibrox during the January transfer window. Premier League side Birmingham, who came close to signing Boyd 12 months ago, are said to be interested while numerous clubs on the continent are believed to be monitoring his situation. Sochaux are among those keen to bring the Scotland international on board, with club president Alexandre Lacombe confident an agreement can be reached. "He would really love to come to France," the Sochaux supremo told L'Equipe. "A transfer in January is foreseeable and his salary is not prohibitive. "Moreover, he will be at the end of his contract in June."
