Blues host Villa in stand-out tie

Local rivals Birmingham City and Aston Villa have been drawn against each other in the stand out tie of the Carling Cup quarter-finals. The Blues travel to Villa Park on Sunday in the Premier League but now face another clash at St Andrews with the quarter-final ties set to be played in the week commencing 29th November. Champions Manchester United have been handed a potentially tricky trip to West Ham after overcoming Wolves on Tuesday. The Hammers have not had the best of starts to the campaign under Avram Grant but beat Stoke to advance to the last eight and will now look to upset the odds against the Red Devils. Arsenal battered Newcastle 4-0 in the fourth round and Arsene Wenger will be able to send his youngsters out against Wigan at the Emirates. Roberto Martinez's Latics overcame his former club Swansea to progress but will no doubt find things tough when they travel to North London. Finally, Ipswich, the only side left in the competition outside the top-flight, have been handed a home tie against West Brom. The Baggies swept away Leicester in midweek and with a place at Wembley on the horizon, will see a trip to Portman Road as a good chance to make the last four.
