Thailand boss to keep going despite slump

Under-pressure Thailand manager Bryan Robson insists he will not step down despite a woeful run of results. The former England captain replaced Peter Reid as Thailand boss in September 2009 but fans have now demanded the resignation of the country's soccer president and want answers to explain the current slump in form. Under the ex-Manchester United skipper Thailand have failed to reach the Asian Cup for the first time in 23 years and were knocked out of the Southeast Asian Games and the Southeast Asian Championship in the first round. Robson believes the team has suffered because of a revamped domestic competition, and insists he will not quit. "I don't count anything as a pass until we win," he said when asked to evaluate his performance as boss. "I'm quite disappointed, I want to win and it's results that matter.

Hope

"As far as I'm concerned, I'm coach here full-time. "People have said I keep going back to England or to Singapore to do TV work but I've not left Thailand for six months, other than for matches and last season I attended 72 (local) games." Robson did admit the organisation of Thai football has left him frustrated at times, but he claims there is ability in the ranks. "It's frustrating coming from the Premier League, people here do things off the cuff, it's a big change in mentality," he added "Everyone here is passionate about the game and everyone is very disappointed. "We couldn't give the fans what they wanted. But there's hope there, we have the ability."
