Highly-rated Barnsley number two David Flitcroft insists that he is committed to Oakwell after Rochdale made a move to secure his services.
Flitcroft worked at Spotland with Keith Hill for five years before he followed him to Barnsley in the summer.
Dale, though, were hopeful they could lure Flitcroft back to take charge of the club but Barnsley rejected the approach - something he was more than happy with.
"I am very happy at Barnsley and I am enjoying being a part of turning the club's fortunes around," Flitcroft told
Sky Sports.
"We have shown in recent months what can be achieved in a small space of time, so the chance to build on this long term is an exciting one."
On Rochdale's approach, Flitcroft said: "Whilst it is always flattering to hear of interest in your services, that was always in Barnsley's hands and I am more than happy they wanted me to stay and continue in the work I am doing."
