At the age of 30 he had a spell with Newport County as boss, but after his spell in Wales he linked up with Bahrain Under-23s after being appointed by then senior coach Peter Taylor.
In the last 12 months he has undertaken experiences with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and with Marcelo Bielsa at Athletic Bilbao.
Hudson has now been appointed to succeed Argentine Gabriel Calderon, who was sacked after Bahrain were eliminated from World Cup qualifying.
