Ipswich have signed midfielder Richard Chaplow on a one-month loan from Millwall, with the option of extending the deal until the end of the season.
The move has come after Luke Varney put pen to paper earlier on Friday, also on a one-month loan from Blackburn.
The midfielder has been training with the Tractor Boys for the past week and has impressed manager Mick McCarthy into offering him a dea.
"He's showed what a capable, comfortable player he is at this level training with us," McCarthy said.
"He's just come in and fitted in. Like Luke Varney, he'll cover the play-offs."
Having started his career at Burnley, Chaplow was signed by West Brom in 2005 for a fee of £1.5m.
He then moved on to clubs including Preston and Southampton, where he featured for The Saints in their promotions to the Championship and Premier League.
The former England Under-21 International has been handed the number 14 shirt and will be available for Town's home game against Reading on Saturday.
Meanwhile, highly-regarded youngster Teddy Bishop has signed a new deal, which will keep the midfielder at Portman Road until summer 2018.
The 18-year-old, who has been widely praised by McCarthy, has drawn the attention of Premier League clubs since he made his debut in August 2014.
McCarthy added: "It's great news. I'm delighted for the Bish and for the Club,
"He is going to play in the Premier League, no doubt about that. Let's hope it's with us. He wants it to be with us and hopefully it will be next year. We've still got a chance."
Bishop added: "I'm delighted to get the new contract and I'm glad to have got everything signed.
"The season has gone really well so far- for both me and Ipswich - and hopefully we can keep pushing on."
