Four clubs are now interested in signing Joey Barton following the breakdown of the midfielder’s proposed move to West Ham, Sky Sports understands.
Barton has attracted interest from two Premier League clubs as well as two French Ligue 1 teams, including the 32 year-old’s previous employers, Marseille.
The former Manchester City and Newcastle midfielder enjoyed a successful season on loan at the Stade Velodrome during the 2012/13 season.
Barton, who has one cap for England, has been without a club since his release by QPR following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
He was due to hold talks with Hammers boss Slaven Bilic this week about a potential contract at the Boleyn Ground.

However, Barton confirmed on Tuesday that he would not be signing for the London club.
"For this moment in time, it's just not meant to be,” Barton said in a video released this week.
“I really felt I could have offered something to West Ham and you're building a good squad there.
"Despite a few having reservations, I felt I could have really done well there. I wish the football club all the best going forward and I think these are exciting times for West Ham.
"There are no hard feelings."
