Opta break down Adebayor's four seasons with Arsenal

Recent transfer speculation has linked Arsenal striker Emanuel Adebayor with a move to Manchester City, potentially joining an ever-growing list of high-profile strikers at Eastlands. With this in mind, Opta casts an eye over his four seasons in London. Adebayor has come in for criticism from some quarters for not playing to the best of his ability this season, netting only 10 goals in 26 league appearances. Whilst this is a solid rate of return, it does not match up to his performances in 2007/08 when he bagged 24 goals in the season. However, it remains an improvement on his first two seasons in the top-flight with the Gunners, as he netted a goal every 188 minutes - almost twice as often as in 2006/07. If some people point to a poorer form in the league this season, his performances in the Champions League seem to have been improving season-on-season.

Last season Adebayor had his best season yet with Arsenal in Europe, bagging more goals and with a greater conversion rate than ever before, as well as setting up two goals. These stats point to the idea that the Togolese striker is improving against the best as he plays in Europe's elite competition, though Mark Hughes will be acutely aware that the Citizens are not playing Champions League football just yet.
