Numbers Game

Matty Briggs' steamers both recorded wins last weekend and this week there's a 4/7 shot worth laying.

Matty Briggs' steamers both recorded victories last weekend and this week Sky Bet's traders pick out a 4/7 shot worth laying. Sky Bet informed us that West Brom had been clipped into 11/4 from 100/30 to win at Aston Villa and told us that Middlesbrough had shortened into 4/6, having opened up at 5/6 to defeat Derby at home. And fortunately for us both bets landed. This week both our banker bet and value bet focus on the Premier League and Liverpool's brilliant record against West Brom also comes under the microscope, while we have a quintet of hot-shots who look primed to hit the back of the net. STEAMERS Manchester City opened at 2/9 and have been backed into 1/6 v Wolves. Peterborough are now 6/4 from 7/4 to claim three points at Watford. Millwall have moved into 6/5 from 11/8 against Ipswich. League One leaders Charlton are now 11/10 having opened up at 13/10 to win at Hartlepool. BANKER Tottenham (-1) are evens on the handicap at home to QPR. QPR's win over nine-man Chelsea did little to inspire confidence and in-form Tottenham could well put the Rs to the sword at the Lane. WHO'S HOT Crawley (4/11) have won their last seven in League Two and face Accrington (6/1). Man City (1/6) have won their last four in Premier League and face Wolves (14/1). Birmingham (11/10) have won their last four in Championship and play Brighton (11/5). Tranmere (21/10) have won their last three in League One and take on Scunthorpe (11/10). C Palace (6/4) won their last three in Championship and play Reading (6/4). Hereford (12/5) have won their last three in League Two and take on Torquay (10/11). WHO'S NOT Wigan (15/8) have lost their last six in the Premier League and take on Fulham (7/5). Bristol City (11/5) have lost their last five in Championship and face Barnsley (11/10). Watford (6/4) have lost their last four and face Peterborough (6/4). Northampton (6/4) have lost their last four and play Rotherham (6/4). Dagenham (13/5) have lost their last four and play Bristol R (5/6). Doncaster (11/8) have lost their last three and play Coventry (7/4). TRADERS' VIEW "We are happy to lay Chelsea this weekend at 4/7. The Blues are clear favourites and given Arsenal's recent struggles you can see why, but at the prices we are happy to take them on and hope Robin van Persie can keep up his amazing run of form." Sky Bet also believe the Owls are worth taking on: "One for the punters to avoid is Sheffield Wednesday away at Wycombe. Wednesday have a great home record having won all seven league games this season so far but have not been so prolific on the road and are without Gary Madine. "The even money available is plenty short enough against a Wycombe side that gave Charlton a scare in midweek." BOGEY TEAMS Everton (7/2) have won just two of the last 34 meetings with Man Utd (4/5). Blackburn (11/4) have won four and lost none of their last eight matches in all competitions against Norwich (evens). The last five meetings between Wigan (15/8) and Fulham (7/5) at the DW have ended as draws; no exact Premier League fixture has ever seen six consecutive draws. Wigan have won just one of their last six at home v Cottagers. Bolton (5/2) have won five and lost none of their last nine matches against Swansea (11/10. Liverpool (10/11) have won eight of last nine v WBA (3/1) at Hawthorns & Liverpool have won nine from 10 Premier League meetings. C Palace (6/4) have gone six without a win v Reading (6/4) at home. Coventry (11/8) have never won at Doncaster (7/4). Rotherham (6/4) have lost just two of last 12 at Northampton (6/4). VALUE BET Blackburn are 11/4 to win at Norwich. Rovers aren't as bad as the pundits make out and buoyed by their midweek win over Newcastle they can keep up their good record against the Canaries (lost none of last eight), who have recorded only one clean sheet in their last 14 at home. HOT-SHOTS Spurs' Rafael Van der Vaart has scored first in the last four games (five goals in last four Prem games) and is evens to net again v QPR and 4/1 to score first. Swansea's Danny Graham has scored in his last three Premier League appearances and is 11/8 to score in 90 minutes v Bolton. Portsmouth's Luke Varney has scored four in last six league games and is 5/2 to score anytime v his old club Derby (law of the X). Oxford's James Constable has hit four goals in his last four games (two braces) and he's a 6/4 shot to score anytime and 9/1 for a brace. Cardiff's Kenny Miller has three goals in his last three in the league and is 7/4 to bag at Leeds. TREATMENT ROOM Bury (6/4) look set to be without in-form striker Andy Bishop v Stevenage (6/4). David Worrall, Craig Easton, David Amoo and Mark Cullen are all still missing too for the Shakers. FAMOUS LAST WORDS Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill speaking after the 2-2 draw v Huddersfield: "I believe that we are moving in the right direction. Once or twice we have let ourselves down, but in most of those games we have had a chance to win them. "It's frustrating that we haven't but we have some good players at this club and if they can continue to show this level of commitment, I am sure results will turn for us." Scunthorpe are 11/10 and can chalk up a win against in-form Tranmere. Bournemouth boss Lee Bradbury speaking after the draw at Colchester: "We can take a lot of positives from it. We got off to a great start and it was a great finish by Wes. There were some really good performances and it was just a mistake on our behalf that let them back in the game. "I thought we made the better chances in the game and we deserved to win it." The Cherries are a ripe 3/1 to triumph at out-of-form Preston. Dagenham chief John Still speaking after the defeat at Crawley: "Our display was very good and it wasn't terrible when we lost at home to Aldershot last weekend. "We started well, got an early goal, but the sending-off hurt us and then conceding the second goal on the stroke of half-time set us back." The Daggers are 13/5 to win at struggling Bristol Rovers.
