Fantasy feast

Image: Robin van Persie: Facing three games in six days

Fantasy bosses urged to hand Robin van Persie the armband for Christmas triple-header.

While the delay of Arsenal's Boxing Day clash with Wolves may be cause for headache for Arsene Wenger and Mick McCarthy, Sky Sports Fantasy Fantasy bosses have the chance to benefit with shrewd delegation of the captain's armband. With gameweeks running from Tuesday to Tuesday, the Emirates clash, which has been moved back a day due to the proposed tube strike, will no longer fall under the current round, meaning the masses who had given Robin van Persie the armband for the current week will lose out. However, with the game's runaway top points scorer now potentially being involved in three games in the space of seven days as the Gunners host Wolves and QPR before travelling to Fulham, getting the Dutchman on board for Tuesday is a must. It is not just Wenger's men who face three games in one gameweek, with Wolves, Swansea, QPR and Norwich playing on Tuesday, Saturday and then again on Monday. While nobody offers the same appeal as 16-goal frontman Van Persie, there is plenty of post-Christmas bargains to be found, with Norwich's strikers Grant Holt and Steve Morison netting seven and six times respectively this season, while the Swans backline boasts the joint most clean sheets with eight so far. The Swans will also be at home for two of their games, offering added appeal given they have recorded six of their clean sheets at the Liberty Stadium, while Wolves' Steven Fletcher and QPR's Heidar Helguson have both been in decent form in front of goal.

Boxing Day bankers

Looking to the Boxing Day fixtures, for which you'll be able to make transfers but not change your skipper, all five of the top six involved will be expecting comfortable victories. Sky Bet's Fantasy Football Specials make Van Persie and Wayne Rooney, who are both odds-on to net, the 7/2 joint-favourites to score the most points from the Premier League strikers. Manchester United frontman Rooney has rediscovered his free-scoring form of late, with four in three, having previously endured an eight-match goalless streak. Daniel Sturridge, who took his goal tally to eight for the season in Thursday night's 1-1 draw at Tottenham, is available at 9/2 as his Chelsea side host Fulham, while Demba Ba, who is the Premier League's second-highest goalscorer, looks worth signing up and backing with a bet as at 7/1 as Newcastle travel to leaky Bolton. Looking to midfield options, Nani has been in devastating form for United of late, with three goals and three assists in as many games ahead of the visit of lowly Wigan. Nani is also guaranteed a start with Ashley Young sidelined for two to three weeks, while Tottenham's Rafael van der Vaart is also set to miss the hectic Christmas period. At the back, the game's top scoring defender Phil Jones could be fit to face the Latics despite suffering a head injury at Fulham so looks worth keeping on board with United keeping a six clean sheets from their last eight games. Liverpool's backline also offer appeal following four successive clean sheets ahead of the visit of basement boys Blackburn, while Swansea's impressive defensive record has already been stated above.
