Daniel Sturridge is one of five key men aiming to make their return to action this weekend in the Premier League.
The Liverpool forward gave Reds fans an unexpected boost on Wednesday evening by declaring he was ready to take on Manchester City on Saturday Night Football on Sky Sports.
Sturridge is yet to play under new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after suffering a knee injury ahead of the German's first game in charge against Tottenham on October 17.
However, the England international returned to training this week and said: "I'm fit and ready to go and it's going to be a great time for me."
Here are four other big-name Premier League characters set to feature again this weekend…
Sergio Aguero
Manchester City have been without their star striker Aguero for six weeks since he injured his hamstring on international duty with Argentina. Last season's top scorer in the Premier League has missed seven City games in that time but could return for Saturday's clash with Liverpool, when Manuel Pellegrini's men will aim to maintain their place at the top of the table with a home win.
"My target is Liverpool," Aguero said last week, after returning to training. That's bad news for Liverpool fans - Aguero scored in the same fixture last season to help City to a 3-1 win.
David Silva
City could receive a double boost should Silva also return this weekend. Like Aguero, Silva was injured in the October international break and has been sidelined since with the ankle problem he picked while on Spain duty against Luxembourg.
While City have gone unbeaten during that spell, after being held to a goalless draw at Aston Villa last time out they'll welcome the return of Silva, who has already weighed in with six assists in five Premier League appearances this season.
Leighton Baines
Everton have been without experienced left-back Baines all season but the 30-year-old finally seems set to return to action from a long-standing ankle problem, which he aggravated ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.
Baines - who has had two operations on his ankle - scored in a behind-closed-doors friendly win over Preston North End last week.
Jose Mourinho
Chelsea manager Mourinho was banned from the Britannia Stadium in the final Premier League fixture before the international break, meaning he was unable to prevent his team slipping to a 1-0 defeat to Stoke.
However, he returns to the dugout at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and will try to steer his side to victory against Norwich. With Chelsea just three points and two places above the relegation zone, they need their charismatic manager more than ever…
